The Overlord Gorilla will come on Day 96 of Season 2 (as devs calculate it), on Thursday.
To check on what day of Season 2 you are go on the Obelisk building, click on the book and you will see your chrono-story, and at the top of it the current Season and day as you can see in the pictures below.

Summary

Before diving in the details of this feature a quick summary so you know what to expect, you can skip this paragraph if you want:

• Even before deploying the Gorilla you will see its effect in battle reports based on his current ranking/training status
• To deploy the Gorilla you need to bring its ranking to “Rookie Partner I” and the items needed are:
  • 1800 Training certificates
  • 300k Training guidebooks
  • 24 Bond Badges
• If you are free to play player it will take you a while to deploy the gorilla (weeks or months, to be calculated yet), if you want to spend there are multiple packs you can purchase to go very fast and you will be able to deploy the gorilla in 1 week for ~500$
• After the deployment goal you can make the Gorilla stronger with further training, promotion ranking and leveling up the skills using additionally the following items:
  • overlord universal shard
  • overlord skill badge
• You can already use the gorilla in your squad when you are doing Overlord radar tasks, there is a new icon below the one in which you choose your drone setup when performing those missions
• Day 5 of Duel VS has been updated to reward you with duel points when using Overlord items.
• There is a community shared tool: “Gorilla Specialized Training item requirements per level” that is tracking what items are needed for even higher levels of specialized training

The encounter with a baby gorilla

The adventure of the Overlord Gorilla has started, it’s up to us to rescue, train, develop and deploy the mighty creature.

Among the radar missions you will find “A Special rescue” mission that has as an icon the face of a gorilla, where a baby gorilla is waiting for your help: complete the mission.

Once the first mission has been completed, a new mission “Unexpected discovery” with the same gorilla face icon appears, click on it to execute it to discover a gorilla laying in the field.

Now you can go back to your base to place the Overlord Base and access the platform to rescue the Gorilla.

The Overlord’s Rescue

The new building allows you to access the platform to rescue and train the Gorilla

First day – Rescue

The first day you will be able to make the Gorilla start recovering giving him water/food/medicines, reaching a progress of 50/150.

Second day – Weak

The second day you will be able to bring the progress up to 90/150, Weak status.

Third day – Minor Injury

The third day you can bring him up to 130/150, Minor Injury status.

Fourth day – Recovery completed

The fourth day finally you can complete the recovery 150/150 and start training.

Overlord’s Training

Once the Overlord Gorilla promotion/recovery was successful a new building becomes available: The Tactical Institute.

This building will generate Training Guidebooks for Gorilla training.

The fourth day, as soon as you complete the promotion, you will be able to start also the training.

The Overlord’s base, when entered, now shows 2 sections: Overview and Training.

Training for deployment

The second section of the Overlord’s Base allows us to train the Gorilla.

To train to deploy the Gorilla it takes time, it cannot be done right away, and we need some items, see Overlord Training Items for how to purchase/obtain them:

• Training certificate
• Training guidebook
• Bond Badge

Specialized Training

There are 3 types of specialized trainings and they need to be individually upgraded using the new 2 items.

• training guidebook behaves similarly to the drone data

• training certificate behaves similarly to drone parts , necessary to unlock specific levels of training (multiples of 5)

I was able to bring all specialized training levels up to 10 day 4 (as free to play). Below a video of the whole upgrading process.

Unfortunately for free to play players, there are already packs you can buy to go further with the training, and they are needed if you want to deploy the Gorilla very soon.

If you are a spender and want to deploy the gorilla right away you need to purchase multiple packs in the first 4-5 days and spend ~500$.

Levels, requirements and bond ratings

Only once you reach the rating “Rookie Partner I” you will be able to deploy the gorilla.

To reach that level you need to go through the following ratings:

• No rating, is the starting rating
• New Partner, that actually has 10 levels of rating, they are called “New Partner I”, “New Partner II”, etc.
• Rookie Partner, that has multiple levels but you need only the first one “Rookie Partner I” to deploy the gorilla

No Rating to “New Partner”

Let’s see the steps to reach “New Partner I” rating:

• Level up ALL specialized trainings to level 50
• Promotion rating to “New Partner I”

Below the amounts of Training guidebook and Training certificate for each level of specialized trainings:

Once ALL specialized trainings reached level 50 you can proceed with the Promotion Rating that will need the following items:

• 2 Bond Badges

“New Partner” to “Rookie Partner”

As said before the “New Partner” has actually 10 levels so you need to promote the Gorilla multiple times before being able to reach “Rookie Parner I”, the steps are:

• Level up ALL specialized trainings to level 100
• Promotion rating from “New Partner I” up to “New Partner X”
• Promotion rating to “Rookie Partner I” (this is gated by specialized trainings to level 100)

Now let’s do the promtion of ranking

• 2 Bond Badges for each level from “New Partner I” up to “New Partner X”, so a total of 18 Bond Badges

Finally do the promotion ranking to “Rookie Partner I” using 4 Bond Badges and after this you can deploy the Gorilla in one of your squads.

Overlord Growth Boost

The same day the Overlord adventure starts there will be available the Overlord Growth Boost that will provide important items.

There are rewards provided for the overall progress of this event, accumulating the Boost Points.

Daily Overlord Radar Missions

There are 3 daily overlord radar mission, on the early servers at the beginning the power needed to complete them was really high, now that requirement has been lowered. There are a total of 42 missions, you can see a progress number on each mission

Starting from the 26th of December, killing 105-120 level Zombie Bosses of Zombie Invasions give Overlord Gorilla items: Training Guidebooks.
