Overview

Professions in Season 3 function the same way they did in earlier seasons.

2 professions are available:

  • Engineer
  • War Leader

Diplomat is still not available.

The Profession Level cap for Season 3 is 100, and it is possible to reach it being very active during the season.

Profession items

It is possible to earn some Profession related items completing some Season Individual Goals, specifically:

  • S3 Skill Points: Level 1 , 20
  • Profession Skill Reset Book: Level 5, 10, 25
  • Profession Change Certificate: Level 15

Seasonal Skills

In Season 3, 19 Seasonal Skills are available, and they are strictly related to the game-plays of the current Season.

Engineer and War Leader have the exact same Seasonal Skills, so below I only show screenshots from Engineer.

When Desert Protectors defeat an enemy base, they reduce the target base’s max durability by 1,000 (up to 5000)

Shrinking Spell

When Desert Protectors defeat an enemy base, they reduce the visual size of the target base by 10% stacking up to 5 times.

To acquire this skill it is mandatory to first acquire “Fragile Spell”.

Protector’s Oath

Profession Level: 50

Instantly obtain 30 (up to 100) highest level Desert Protectors. Cooldown: 71.5 hours

Sandstorm

Summon a sandstorm lasting 10 minutes. Within a 9×9 range, base troop march speed is reduced by 20%, cooldown 47.5 hours, and the area becomes desert terrain. This effect cannot stack.

Nature’s Touch

Profession Level: 60

Max Skill Levels: 1

Transforms a 9×9 tile area into green land (you may find uncover artifacts there). Can only be placed in areas that can be greenified and does not stack. Cooldown: 47.5 hours

Trap Landmine

Profession Level: 65

Max Skill Levels: 1

Deploy a Trap Landmine on vacant area, targeting underground creatures. Position them in their path to force them above ground. Lasts for 10 minutes, cooldown 11.5 hours, stores up to 3.

Underground creatures = Sandworms and Golden Scarabs live
underground and are adept at moving through the desert [mines must be pre-placed along their path].

Indomitable Will

When Desert Protectors die during a march, 3% (up to 10%) of them regroup back at the base.

Explosive Enhancement

The Desert Protector’s Death Shockwave ratio is increased.

Sandworm Trap

Profession Level: 80

Max Skill Levels: 1

Deploy Sandworm Trap in your home warzone: the target will be entangled by the sandworm after triggering.
Commanders from the same warzone and faction are immune. The trap lasts 24 hours with a 71.5-hour cooldown.

Sandworm Trap = Commanders from the same warzone and faction are immune. Triggered when other commanders teleport and make contact

Levels:

  • Level 1: 1

It’s quite easy to deploy a sandworm trap: click on any free location of the map, click on the profession button and then the Sandworm Trap Use button.

Once deployed the Trap will last for 24 hours, waiting for an enemy to trigger it.

Once an enemy commander teleports on that location, the Sandworm will entangle the commander, and the entanglement will last for 24 hours.

Trade Discount

Profession Level: 85

Max Skill Levels: 1

Enjoy extra discounts when purchasing items from Trade Posts.

Summon Mummies

Profession Level: 90

Max Skill Levels: 1

Target an unshielded enemy commander to summon a mummy boss near your base. The boss will march to attack the
target for 30 minutes, cooldown 71.5 hours.

Enemy commander = Commanders from the same warzone and faction are immune

Levels:

  • Level 1: 10%

This skill is quite fun, you summon a Mummy that immediately attacks the target base.

The Mummies summoned by this skill are quite strong, their power is 37.5m and they can easily defeat most of the commanders.

When the Mummy hits a base and defeats the base defense (or if no defense was deployed), it will cause 10,000 durability damage, causing therefore an immediate relocation of the target base.

You can protect your base from these mummies either using a shield or making sure that your defenses + reinforcements can sustain the power of the Mummy.

This skill is fundamental during spice wars:

  • you can remove an enemy that occupied a spot during spice wars happening on Wednesday or in preparation for the ones on Saturday before the reset
  • lower power commanders can invoke this skill to attack with 37.5m power

Here you can see the battle report of a Mummy summoned on a base that had 3 squads defending, but it was not enough and the base was defeated and relocated.

Suggested Seasonal Skills

When you start Season 3 you don’t have immediately all the skills available, as you need to increment your Profession level, but even so it makes sense to reserve some Skill Points for useful Seasonal Skills.

Given that spice wars actually start in week 4 the best approach is to use skills that help to grow first.

Useful skills to grow

Here a list of skills that allow you to take advantage of the growth and game plays in Season 3, I suggest to max the level of these skills.

  • Combat Experience: increases your profession EXP when you kill world zombies, activity that you will do for sure
  • Building inspiration: increases your profession EXP when you build seasonal buildings, activity that you will do for sure
  • Professional Insights: I am not 100% convinced that this skill gives you an edge because of its 24h cooldown, but still at the very beginning of Season 3 it could be helpful
  • Double Greenification: super useful to greenify faster
  • Protector’s Oath: free protectors, useful especially at the beginning when there is no war to start accumulating Protectors
  • Trap Landmine: this skill enables you to play the game of hunting sandworms, if you don’ t have it you miss an important part of the gameplay of Season 3 in my opinion.

Useful skills for war

Starting from week 4 spice wars will take place, and anyway during war day (Saturday) you could take advantage of these skills.

  • Fragile Spell: this is not one of my favorite skills, but I have to say that causing a +1,000 durability damage might be a very good plus when you are hunting down warlords and muses during spice wars before they can use their skills (missiles and mummy army). Additionally this could be helpful in trade post captures, where you are forced to be in the mud area to participate to the capture
  • Sandstorm: slowing down your enemies might give you an important edge in wars and captures. Even if the effect does not stack it is powerful enough to help a lot
  • Indomitable Will: protectors are a very strong weapon in Season 3, having 10% rescued could make a huge change in wars
  • Sandworm Trap: this skill if used in the right moment could give an edge to defenders. Considering that the trap lasts 24 hours and that an ally needs to untrap the targeted enemy, it could give an advantage because of its surprising effect
  • Summon Mummies: in my opinion this is a MUST have. Taking spots close to the alliance center during spice wars is fundamental, and using this skill to relocate even very strong enemies (if some conditions are met) allows both the defending and the attacking alliances to play the war in its most fun way. Coordination and organization of an alliance to fully take advantage of this skill is required, and it can have devastating effect on the outcome of a war.

Skills I would advise to NOT acquire

  • Contaminated Land Teleport: if you arrived prepared to Season 3 with spare teleports, it’s better to spare this skill point
  • Sand’s Protection: I see no valid advantage for having this extended protection
  • Shrinking Spell: this is only a visual skill, it will not change the power or defense of the targeted base, enjoy it only if you have spare skill points
  • Nature’s Touch: the skill is nice and handy, but its huge cooldown of 72 hours makes it useless in my opinion.
  • Explosive Enhancement: I personally see the max +3% buff as too low to waste skill points on this
  • Trade Discount: I don’t think that a 10% discount of diamonds in purchases make a huge difference
  • Double Exchange: acquire it only if you really need it, given the long cooldown it is not really useful
  • Double Conversion: faster protectors conversion, I suggest to acquire this only if really needed

Rapid Production

Use it to immediately gain 4 (up to 24 ) hours of production from in-base Food, Iron and Coin buildings, cooldown 23.5 hours.

The effect of Daily Freebie for stamina has been improved.

  • Level 1: +50% (now you will receive 2 packs of 75 stamina daily instead of 2 packs of 50 stamina daily)

Siege Mastery

Soldier durability damage increases by 100 (up to 500).

Unlock Ruin Removal feature = Send squads to remove ruins and gain a temporary teleport area for your alliance.

This skill is very important for its secondary capability to remove ruins. The ruins refer to the ruins that are left on map when you burn down a base. With this skill you are able to clean that area and reserve a teleportation spot for minutes for your alliance.

This feature is very very important during spice wars.

Blast

Use it on your base to activate War Fever mode, triggering a 60-second Blast countdown. The blast will damage nearby
