In Season 5 the Season Preview feature is immediately available during week 1 of the Pre-season.

Alliance Safe Time

This is a very important new element of Season 5 as it gives the Alliance a way to protect itself from one of the 3 battle slots.

Pre-Season Week 2

During the second pre-season week the following elements of the menu are available:

Additionally a Capitol Conquest will take place.

Gold Prospecting

Gold Prospecting is a mini-game event that starts week 2 on Monday and it lasts until Friday.

It allows you to play the game daily and get rewards, and it is also important because, based on the ranking of this game, your warzone acquires priority in the Area Selection event.

Gameplay

The game is quite easy as you can see from the rules above: You need to collect a certain amount of gems of each color. To do so just position the blocks to be able to clear rows or columns.

The fewer steps you make to complete the stage the better. Only if the steps are tied the time is taken into account for the ranking.

Ranking and rewards

Ranking rewards are not that much interesting.

But it is fundamental that you give your best because you need to help your warzone to rank high to have priority in choosing the position on the map.

In the ranking in the image you can see me completing the stage in 22 steps in 1m 12s. As I said before it is more important that you reduce the number of steps than the time you take to do it.

Video of gameplay and rules

Here is a video that shows you the game in action

Area Selection

Area Selection starts Tuesday of week 2 and lasts until Sunday.

  • S5 map is divided into areas, and each warzone has to decide through this event an area in which to be ported during S5
  • The eight surrounding areas are exclusive spawn areas for the eight warzones and cannot be invaded by other warzones.
  • Each warzone President can choose one area as the warzone’s spawn area. There is a 12-hour cooldown after each selection.
  • The higher a warzone’s Gold Prospecting Ranking, the higher its priority in choosing a spawn area.
  • In the Gold Prospecting event, the total results of the top 50 Commanders in a Warzone determine the Warzone Result. Warzones with better results may swap Spawn areas with Warzones with worse results.
  • The event is composed by 2 stages:
    • Area Selection Stage: From Tuesday to Saturday, during which positions can be chosen. After Saturday, positions are locked.
    • Results Stage: Sunday, during which no changes can be made before the season starts.
Areas

Below are the details of each area (they are all available in this case):

Once Warzones select some areas you will see them appearing on the map. Clicking on those areas you can immediately see if you have higher priority than that warzone and so replace them in the area selection (only Presidents can do this action).

Additionally there is a different view of the same areas click on the Switch button.

Video of gameplay and rules

In this video you can see all the details of this feature.

Please note that this video was recorded the first day the feature came out, since then the Area Selection Stage changed and now is from Tuesday to Saturday

Capitol Conquest

Day 6 of Week 2 of Pre-Season the Capitol Conquest will take place.

The event is the usual capitol conquest but in this case, being it during the Pre-season period, there is NO need for an alliance to own an adjacent land (city or stronghold) to participate in the challenge.

So all the alliances can compete for the Capitol, and the winner will stay in the Capitol for the whole off-season period.

A few important notes about this event:

  • When the event starts the capitol buffs will not be available until the capture of the Capitol
  • When the event starts the president will lose its power and position
  • To attack the capitol you will lose the shield as first attackers. Once the capitol is being garrisoned by your alliance, you don’t lose the shield to garrison it
  • It is possible to defend the Capitol with up to 100 squads
  • It is possible to earn Honor Points only until the stage in which it says “Outcome settled”

And yes, the graphics is of Season 4 because it is still not the Season 5 Capitol because you are still in Season 4 map.

One important thing to do is to try to max the Honor points, to do so you can either attack the capitol or send your squads in the mud area to either attack other squads or get attacked by other squads. The more troops you kill or get killed in the mud area the more Honor Points you earn.
