How to Win Daily Arms Race event in Last War: Tasks, Points, Rewards & Strategy Guide

The Arms Race event in Last War: Survival Game is one of the most important daily challenges for progression. This recurring event is divided into six four-hour phases, such as base building , troop training, tech research, drone upgrades, and hero advancement, where players earn points to unlock valuable rewards.

Unlike limited-time events, the Last War Arms Race runs every day and adjusts its difficulty based on your Headquarters (HQ) level, keeping competition fair and rewards balanced for everyone. By completing phase objectives, you earn Arms Race Badges, which grant access to chests containing resources, speedups, skill medals, and even hero shards.

In this guide, you’ll learn how the Arms Race works, what each phase requires, the best strategies to score maximum points, and how to claim all available rewards efficiently.

Arms Race detail page

The Arms Race page is your main dashboard for tracking event progress, claiming rewards, and checking rankings during each four‑hour phase. All key information for the current segment is displayed here, helping you plan your actions efficiently:

  • Current Phase: Shows which phase is active (e.g., Unit ProgressionBase BuildingHero Advancement). Each has different ways to earn points — see the Arms Race Phases section for details.
  • Contest Segment: Groups players by HQ level (for example, HQ Lv. 10‑12,31-35) to ensure fair competition. Rewards and point requirements scale by segment — learn more in Progressive difficulty based on Headquarter level
  • Calendar: View upcoming phases so you can prepare upgrades or research in advance.
  • Countdown Timer: Displays time remaining in the current four‑hour phase.
  • Today’s Arms Race rewards
  • Tasks & Points Table: Shows all available actions that earn points during the current phase.
  • Daily Ranking: Tracks your placement against other commanders and the corresponding end‑of‑day rewards.

Rewards

As we saw from the event page we have 3 different types of rewards:

Current Phase’s Points Chests

During each phase, you can open 3 Points chests progressing in accumulating points, executing the tasks of the current phase.

It is important to note that the rewards of these chests change based on the contest segment (based on your HQ level).

For example, for Contest Segment Level 31-35 HQ the rewards are the following:

The most important prize of these chests are the Arms Race Badge , in fact these badges contribute to the opening of Today’s Arms Race rewards

Arms Race Badge can always be found in chests in this quantity (regardless of Contest Segment):

  • First chest of the current phase: 1 Arms Race Badge
  • Second chest of the current phase: 2 Arms Race Badge
  • Third chest of the current phase: 3 Arms Race Badge

Today’s Arms Race rewards

Every time you open one of the Current Segment’s Points Chests you get Arms Race Badge as described in the previous paragraph.

Once you reach 2 / 8 / 18 Arms Race Badges, the blue/purple/gold chests are opened:

So if you want to make sure you get the gold chest it is enough to open all chests in 3 phases, as that would award you 6 Arms Race Badge per phase and so a total of 18 Arms Race Badges. Else you can earn the same amount among more phases.

There rewards are pretty much the same regardless of the Contest Segment, with the UR Hero Universal Shard becoming “Hero Shard and exclusive weapon choice chest” after that item becomes available in the game.

The Daily Ranking chests

Throughout the whole day you are going to challenge your adversaries to rank in the top 3 spots to gain additional rewards.

Progressive difficulty based on Headquarter level

The game will adapt the difficulty of this event based on your Headquarter level. Specifically,

What will change is the amount of points that are needed to unlock the milestone chests and also the corresponding chest rewards.
For example on the left you can see that for the HQ Lv.10-12 challenge you only need 1000 points to unlock the first chest, while for the Lv31-35 you need 15000 points. Additionally, the corresponding rewards are quite different.

Phases

You can check the schedule of the phases clicking on the upper right calendar icon inside the the Arms Race Event page. Calendar icon

The same phase will happen at the same time on all servers of Last War: Survival Game, so you can plan accordingly to win the daily rewards taking advantage of the Phase Swap.

Stage Swap

The Stage Swap feature in the Arms Race event of Last War: Survival allows you to exchange your current phase with a later one under specific conditions. Below is a structured explanation of how it works.

1. Daily Swap Limit

  • You can perform only 1 swap attempt per day.
  • Once used, you must wait until the next daily reset to swap again.

2. Eligible Stages

  • You may only swap to a later phase than your current one.
  • It is not possible to move backward to an earlier stage.

3. What Gets Swapped

When a swap occurs, the following elements between the two stages are completely exchanged:

  • Point requirements
  • Points
  • Chest

  • I restart from 0 points for the Phase.

Base Building

This phase focuses on expanding the base, meaning leveling up your buildings.

  • Increases Building power by 1 point:
    Every time a construction is completed, that construction will have increased its power, and points are obtained for this difference. Note that the building’s strength increase only occurs when you open the gift box in which the newly upgraded building is packaged, only in that moment the points are rewarded.
    Tip : during the day when you have completed upgrading a building, if you do not need to access its functions, leave it packaged and then open it during this phase to obtain the relevant points. See image above
  • Use 1-min Construction Speedup :
    Use Speedups speedup builder 3hspeedup generic 3h

    Points are rewarded immediately as the speedup is used.
  • Buy packs containing Diamonds:
    Be smart and if you want to purchase packs that contain diamonds diamond, do it during an Arms Race phase in which you need to do more points to obtain the current phase rewards

Unit Progression

This phase focuses on unit (troops) progression. Train soldier here refers to both training them from scratch and upgrading them from one level to a higher level.

  • Train a Lv. 1/2/3/4/5/6/7/8/9/10 unit :
    Points are given based on a soldier’s arrival level. So upgrading a lvl 4 to a lvl 5 gives you the points of a lvl 5 in the same way as training a lvl 5 from scratch. So prepare many intermediate level soldiers to upgrade as an assembly line. See the Troops guide for how to upgrade a soldier.
  • Use 1-min Training Speedup :
    Use Speedups speedup training speedup generic 3h

    Points are rewarded immediately as the speedup is used.
  • Buy packs containing Diamonds:

Tech Research

This phase focuses on carrying out researches in the technology center.

  • Increases Tech Power by 1 point :
    When a research is completed in the Technological Center, technological power points are rewarded.
  • Use 1-min Research Speedup :
    Use Speed ups speedup sciencespeedup generic 3h
    (science speedup or generic speedup, any length).
    Points are rewarded immediately as the speedup is used.
  • Buy packs containing Diamonds:
    Be smart and if you want to purchase packs that contain diamonds diamond, do it during an Arms Race phase in which you need to do more points to obtain the current phase rewards

Drone Boost

  • Use 10 Drone Combat Data points :
    Go to the  Drone Center and click the Data Training  button to use battle data. At certain levels it is necessary to have drone parts in order to proceed with training.
  • Use 1 Stamina:
    Use stamina to: attack zombies/bases, execute rallies towards zombies/bases, complete radar missions.
  • Buy packs containing Diamonds:
    Be smart and if you want to purchase packs that contain diamonds diamond, do it during an Arms Race phase in which you need to do more points to obtain the current phase rewards

Hero Advancement

  • Elite Recruit 1 time :
    Use the Legendary Recruitment Tickets in the heroes section, “Recruit Heroes” button -> “Recruit Heroes”
    Season 1 Upgrade:
    Use the Hero’s Return Recruitment Tickets in the heroes section, “Recruit Heroes” button -> “S1 Hero’s Return” heroes return recruitment ticket
  • Use at least 2000 Hero EXP at a time :
    Use EXP (experience) points, i.e. use the “Upgrade” button after selecting a hero
  • Buy packs containing Diamonds:
    Be smart and if you want to purchase packs that contain diamonds diamond, do it during an Arms Race phase in which you need to do more points to obtain the current phase rewards

Strategy

Arms Race rewards are critical to grow at any stage. To secure all the prizes you need to organize the actions you do during the day well.

The following actions do not contribute points in any Arms race phase (but they will during the VS duel event which is available later), so they can be done at any time without losing points:

  • Heroes: Use skill medals to upgrade skills
  • Drones: Synthesize drone components

Arms Race: Pro Tips

  • Always check the phase calendar: Plan your upgrades, research, and training according to the upcoming phases.
  • Pre-finish buildings and research: Complete them but don’t “unwrap” until the right phase starts to earn points efficiently.
  • Save Hero EXP and Recruit Tickets: Use them only during the Hero Advancement phase for maximum scoring.
  • Stack training queues: Prepare lower-tier troops in advance, then upgrade them during the Unit Progression phase.
  • Use speedups smartly: Apply Construction, Research, or Training Speedups only during their corresponding phases.
  • Spend diamonds wisely: Make in-game purchases during a phase in which you need to earn more points. For example: if your drone is blocked because you don’t have enough drone parts to perform update and therefore score using battle data, purchase during that phase to earn the missing points for the phase.
  • Focus on Arms Race Badges: Opening phase chests early in the day ensures faster access to the Daily Reward Chests.
  • Use Stage Swap only when necessary: Swap phases if you’re unprepared for the current one, but remember: points will reset.
  • Track your daily ranking: A small point boost before the daily reset can secure a top-3 position and extra rewards.
  • Avoid wasting non-scoring actions: Using Skill Medals or synthesizing Drone Parts doesn’t give points, save these for other times.
  • Prepare for the next day: Before reset, claim all rewards, queue new upgrades, and check the next phase schedule.

    I’ve noticed that different HQ levels change the points required in the Arms Race categories. Is there a list of these anywhere?

      You are right about that, it is based on HQ level ranges. Unfortunately I didn’t track them, I might in the future.

    Going from HQ 14 to 15 is a big step change in earning the bronze/silver/gold chests. Wait as long as possible before progressing to the next contest segment. I missed a lot of the early ones when first learning the game, and I think that held me back.

    To confirm, so if I am doing the Hero Advancement phase on a Monday Day 1 of the VS and for the VS Day 4 “train the hereos” will points earned in the arms race phase contribution to points on Day 4?

      If you use Hero EXP during Day 1 and 4 of VS and in correspondence with arms race for hero you will accumulate points for both challenges

    Tech reward points are earned when the investigation finishes or when you click on the icon after that?

      You earn points for “Increase Tech Power by 1pt” when you click on the icon of the completed tech, so you decide exactly when to earn those points.

    These rewards don’t seem that good, why do people priotize arms race so much? Like someone said to use hero recruitment tickets on arms race rather than the mega chest (that chest you have to unlock with keys), even though the chest has better rewards? I’m very confused
